Why do we accept mediocrity in feedback

I just noticed how often we settle for vague feedback in group settings, like during project reviews. It makes me wonder if we’re just avoiding conflict or if we genuinely think that’s enough. It feels like we miss out on some real growth opportunities with clearer communication.

I totally get that — I’ve seen how valuable clear feedback can be in driving real improvements. In one project, we started using specific criteria for evaluations, which encouraged everyone to provide constructive input rather than just vague comments. It made a huge difference in our outcomes.
