Noticing a lot of anxiety in patients lately

I’ve been on the night shift for a few months now, and I’ve seen more patients expressing anxiety about the blood draw than before. It’s interesting how some seem more nervous, especially during the quiet hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to ease their minds would be really helpful.

I’ve noticed that too, especially at night when it’s quieter. Maybe try engaging them in a light conversation about something they enjoy — like asking about their favorite movie while you prep. It can help distract them from the needle, and who knows, you might get some good recommendations?
