I’ve been a mobile phlebotomist for a couple of years now, and I’ve found that having the right tools really makes all the difference. My absolute favorite is the butterfly needle; it’s so much easier on patients, especially those with smaller veins; what are some of your must-haves for a seamless collection experience?
Totally agree — ‘absolute favorite is the butterfly needle; it’s so much easier on patients, especially’ when they’re anxious or have tiny veins. I also find that having a good tourniquet helps a lot too, but man, some of them just don’t grip well enough. What other tools do you think are game-changers for you?
I’ve found that a good tourniquet makes a huge difference in quick collections. It’s amazing how much easier it’s to find a vein when the blood flow is maximized! Do you have a favorite type?
