Best ways to handle difficult patients

And i was reading through some of the recent posts, and it got me thinking about how we all face challenging situations with patients. Just last week, I had a patient who was really anxious and difficult to communicate with. What strategies do you all use to calm them down and make the process easier for both of you? I’d love to hear your experiences.

I’ve found that using a calm voice and taking a moment to explain each step really helps. For instance, when I had a similar situation last week, just acknowledging the patient’s anxiety made a difference. Sometimes, it’s all about building trust, right?

Valid point about anxious patients! I find it helps to use a little distraction — maybe a small chat about their interests during the process. Have you tried that approach?
