Are winged sets really worth it

I’ve been using straight needles for most of my phlebotomy career, but I’m curious if anyone here has made the switch to winged infusion sets. I see them in a lot of kits, but do they really make a difference in patient comfort or accuracy, especially for difficult draws? Would love to hear your experiences.

And winged sets can definitely make a difference, especially with smaller veins. They’re like the yoga pants of phlebotomy — flexible and comfortable for those tricky draws! Have you tried them yet, or are you still in the straight needle camp?

Switching to winged sets can really help with those tough veins! Have you tried them yet?

I’ve found winged sets really shine with pediatric patients or those tough veins — the flexibility makes all the difference. Just make sure you’re using the right gauge; too big can cause more discomfort. Have you considered trying them in those situations?
