Are we overlooking patient comfort in blood draws

I’ve been working a lot with pediatric patients lately, and I’ve noticed that the standard blood draw techniques often don’t consider their comfort or anxiety levels. Last week, I tried using distraction techniques during the draw, and it made a huge difference. Are there any other strategies you’ve found effective in making the experience less stressful for patients?
