I’m burning through those latex-free tourniquets that stretch out after two patients, and the buckle ones snag my gloves - what are you all using that actually holds without pinching hair? Bonus if it doesn’t turn into a sticky ribbon after a couple wipes, because I’m tired of tossing them mid-shift. Open to ideas.
Reusable silicone quick‑release tourniquets (Prestige Medical style) hold well without pinching hair and stand up to Sani‑Cloth AF3/alcohol wipes without turning gummy. Bonus tip: slip a tiny bit of gauze under the band on very hairy or sweaty arms and it stays put, and the smooth finish won’t snag your gloves when you pop the release.
I started sliding a folded 2x2 under the strap before tightening — no hair pull, better grip so you don’t over-crank, and the band doesn’t get gummy since it’s not soaking up skin oils between wipes; you tried the gauze buffer yet?
@jupa574 your gauze trick is smart; I rotate two tourniquets — one clipped to my badge reel drying while I use the other — so the disinfectant flashes off and they stop going gummy or grabbing hair. Are you wiping with AF3 or straight alcohol?
